OMETEPE HOSTEL / THE HOUSE

The old hostel 1

The old hostel 1

The original house took Francisco and Rosario years to build piece-by-piece with limited resources. In the early 2000’s this family on isla de Ometepe had it’s first groups of backpackers from foren country’s as USA, Canada, Germany, Holland and the rest of Europe. In this early day’s this was not jet a real ometepe hostel but just there house and Lizzeth with her brothers would give there rooms to the backpackers and visiters. The family self would sleep all together in one room so the guest could experience a nice stay with them. In order to provide our guests with maximum comfort and safety, we rebuilt the house from scratch in 2016 making sure it’s strong and durable for the future. The hostel is small with only 4 bedrooms so you will feel at home and on holiday at the same time. Sit on the front porch of the hostel to see the locals come along or stay around the back of the house for more peace and tranquillity.

Lay down in a hammock and enjoy the laid-back life of Nicaragua.
