Ometepe hostel : La Peñita Hospedaje : BECOME OUR PERSONAL GUEST

The original house took mam and dad years to build piece-by-piece with limited resources. In the early 2000s, this family had its first groups of backpackers from foreign countries such as the USA, Canada, Germany, and Holland. In these early days, this was just their house. Lizzeth with her brothers would give their rooms to the backpackers and visitors. The family self would sleep all together in one room, so the guest could experience a nice stay with them. In order to provide our guests with maximum comfort and safety, we rebuilt the house from scratch in 2016 making sure it’s strong and durable for the future. The hostel is small with only 4 bedrooms, so you will feel at home with us. Sit on the front porch of the hostel to see the locals come along, or stay around the back of the house for more peace and tranquility.

Meet the family: RAMOS PAIZANO

This family exists of Lizzeth and Mark, mam Rosario, dad Francisco, brother Douglas, and his wife Kelay. For as long as they can remember, this family has lived here on the island Ometepe. The daily operations of this Ometepe hostel are run by Lizzeth and Mark. Lizzeth was born and raised on the island Ometepe, Mark original from The Netherlands. The rest of the family (uncles, aunts, and cousins) will cooperate to make your stay the best and most relaxing experience of your life. Altogether, they will create wonderful holiday memories that will last a lifetime. They will cook, wash your clothes, service the rental bikes, guide you on the island, and much more. You will experience first-hand how we live on this tropical island Ometepe.

Location: WE ARE SITUATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ISLAND

The Ometepe hostel La Penita is located in the middle of the island Ometepe just 2.5 kilometers from the main town of Isla de Ometepe: Altagracia. The same distance away as the wonderful natural well on the island: Ojo de Agua with its crystal clear water. We are only 500 meters from the base of the Ometepe volcano Conception and its hiking route. Only 30 meters from the main road and the bus stop. Taking the right ferry to Ometepe, the bus trip to our hostel will only take 20 minutes. The main road will take you to all corners of the island, with a bus, a mountain bike, scooter, quad, or even by horse. (We rent bikes, motorcycles, quad, and horses for your stay)
